I built the ReelTime Charters website for a friend of mine, Captain Dan Kelly, who has a bay fishing charter service working out of Rockport Texas. One of my first professional sites and I got paid in fishing trips.

Dan wanted a blog for the telling of fish tales, an availability calendar and photo gallery. This is where I cut my teeth on the workings of Joomla template modifications and the installation and configuration of extensions.

The project was started and completed in November of 2006. The webhost, BlueHost, has the Fantastico De Luxe scripts installer so I installed both Joomla CMS and Gallery2 photo gallery. I soon found that the Gallery2 was much more complex than Dan needed to display the catches so I installed the SmoothGallery mambot instead. The blog simply uses Joomla's built in content creation features. The calendar is JCal Pro.

I was given full creative license with the design elements and threw in a simple logo for free.

Content updates for the Flog (fishing blog) and Calendar are made by Dan using a front end login and I update his gallery for him. You can see that he has been real busy this summer (2010) and the Flog is not current.
